They tried to punish her daughter for hitting a boy, but the mother simply was not going to tolerate that type of attitude from the school. After all, the boy had allegedly tried to sexually assault the daughter! Who in the world wouldn’t think that fighting back wasn’t appropriate in such a situation. Apparently, this school did.
The boy apparently kept pinging her bra, while the girl repeatedly told him to stop. The girl finally told the teacher. The teacher’s response? “Ignore it.” Wow!
Of course the boy didn’t stop and he then undid the girls bra! That’s when the girl had enough. The boy wouldn’t stop, the teacher wouldn’t stop him, so she socked him and rightfully so in the minds of many.
Except the warped mind of the school. They decided to actually punish the daughter! Naturally the mother was furious.
Here’s what the mother told the principal straight up:
“No. She defended herself against a sexual attack from another pupil. Look at them; He’s a foot taller than her and twice as heavy. If the person who was supposed to help and protect her in a classroom couldn’t be bothered what should she have done?”
School officials then accused the mother of overreacting.
The actual words from one of the teachers was:
“I don’t think it was that serious.”
And a school counselor decided to put his worthless 2 cents in: “Let’s not over-react.”
The mother then completely owned the teacher, reversing the roles, totally calling him out:
“You let him do this? Why didn’t you stop him? Come over here and let me touch the front of your trousers.”
Of course the teacher said no.
The mother wouldn’t relent and continued to humiliate both the teacher and the counselor:
“Does that seem inappropriate to you? Why don’t you go and pull on Mrs. [Counselor]’s bra right now. See how fun it is for her.”
The mother would go on to report the incident to the school’s superintendent. She didn’t press any charges against the boy, as she seemed to simply want justice for her girl, rather than actual punishment.
The school ended up putting the boy in a different class, away from the girl.
The mother closed out her argument, making it clear no mother should have to put up with a school who punishes someone who is trying to stopping another from messing with their undergarments.
“I hope nothing like this ever happens again, not only to [my daughter], but to any other girl at this school.”
Minimizing sexual assault is a common theme in high school in colleges according to researcher Corey Rayburn Yung, JD, a law professor at the University of Kansas who said the following:
“When it comes to sexual assault and rape, the norm for universities and colleges is to downplay the situation and the numbers. The result is students at many universities continue to be attacked and victimized, and punishment isn’t meted out to the rapists and sexual assaulters.”
